Scene View
Navigate and interact with your 3D scene in the viewport
The scene viewport displays the 3D representation of your models from the camera's perspective. You can orbit and pan the camera, select objects in the scene, and interact with them.
Camera controls
Use the mouse and keyboard to navigate the camera position and rotation.
Panning
Panning moves the camera laterally across the 3D scene. Use the right mouse button.
Rotating
Rotating turns the camera around the scene. Use the left mouse button.
Zoom
Zoom in and out using the mouse scroll wheel.
World gizmo
The world gizmo shows the global X, Y, and Z axes and the current camera orientation in the scene. Click an axis to snap the camera to that plane.
Use the perspective/orthographic toggle under the gizmo, or press CTRL+O, to switch view modes.
Transform gizmo
The transform gizmo lets you change the position and rotation of objects. It has two states: translation and rotation. Toggle between them with CTRL+R.
- Translation: moves an object along the x, y, and z axes.
- Rotation: rotates an object around the x, y, and z axes.
Selecting scene objects
You can select objects directly in the viewport. Selected objects get an outline highlight, even when occluded by other objects. Objects hovered in the scene tree are also highlighted.
Simulation controls
Starting, stopping and pausing a simulation
Click the play button in the top-left corner of the viewport to start a simulation. When running, the play icon changes to stop and a pause button appears.
Click pause to temporarily halt execution. Click stop to end the simulation and restore the pre-play state.
Speed controls
Use speed controls to accelerate low-interest parts of the simulation and slow down critical moments for closer inspection.
Recording a simulation
Click the record button next to the play button to start recording. While the button is red, you are recording. Click again to stop. A .mp4 or .webm file downloads when recording ends.
